How Do Cellars Work in Diablo 4?

Cellars appear in every region in Diablo 4. They're usually found in out-of-the-way places on the map, but they can also appear along the roadside. They won't show on the map, but they can be seen on the minimap when they're nearby.

Cellars usually consist of a basic, small map that ends in a room filled with enemies. A rare few have events in them instead, and rarer still are the ones with puzzles. You can usually find the following loot in cellars:

Gold and XP Crafting Materials Rare and Legendary Items Demon Hearts Sacred Weapons

Dungeons offer some of the best spots to farm for both loot and XP in Diablo 4, and the Cultist Refuge is one of the more popular choices among endgame players thanks to its simple objectives, high mob density, and straightforward area layout.

Diablo 4: How to Get Doombringer

Getting t buy Diablo 4 Gold the Cultist Refuge isn't as simple as other dungeons, however. Even after entering Diablo 4's endgame, players will still have to go through a few hoops before they can enter both its normal and Nightmare variations. Here's where to find and gain access to this dungeon.

Diablo 4: Cultist Refuge Dungeon Location

The Cultist Refuge is located in the village of Nostrava in the Fractured Peaks. It's directly west of Kyovashad and north of Nevesk, the first settlement players visit when they start the game.

Nostrava may seem like a quiet hamlet in the snowy mountains, but it's actually overrun by cultists, brainwashed villagers, and a lot of demons. Enter the area and head up the hill toward the chapel. Interrupt the cultist communion and get ready to clear the entire town.

The Stronghold will have players going from house to house in search of Demonic Effigies. Destroy these and return to the chapel for a final standoff against the succubi that brainwashed the villagers. Defeat them and light the Wanderer's shrine to unlock the Cultist Refuge dungeon along with the whole of Nostrava as a new safe zone.

Cultist Refuge Dungeon Tips

This dungeon is very popular among endgame players because of how efficient it is when it comes to farming for loot and XP. The first half of it involves slaying all enemies within a fairly small and circular area. Meanwhile, the second half will have players hunting down only two elites.

Players will mostly have to worry about Cultists and Werewolves in this dungeon unless the summoner-type mobs manage to call in some demons. Expect to fight against a lot of elite Werewolves in the second half of the dungeon — it's better to use Elixirs of Beast-slaying here since Werewolves are usually more threatening than the Cultists.

The cages in the underground caves can be opened, letting the trapped Werewolves free in the process. Sometimes, the cages might contain elites—players can tell this if the enemy in question is glowing or is larger than usual. Make sure to take them out for a shot at getting more loot. Also, don't forget that the map can still be cleared even after finishing the last objective.
