Combat Tips: How to Handle the Spotter

While the Spotter is not directly dangerous in terms of weaponry or its ability to deal damage, its role in marking you for death makes it one of the more insidious threats on the battlefield. Here are several tactics you can use to nullify the Spotter's impact and avoid becoming the Bombardier's easy target.

1. Take Out the Spotter (But Strategically)

The most obvious approach to dealing with the Spotter is to destroy it, but this needs to be done carefully. Spotters are typically found in pairs, and if you take out one, it will still have a second Spotter alive to continue marking you. Additionally, since Spotters will respawn after a short time, it's not always worth dedicating too many resources to destroying them repeatedly.

It's better to focus on eliminating them only when you're actively in a combat situation and when you're certain the Bombardier will continue to pose a major threat without their support. In other situations, you might find that taking out the Spotter is simply wasting ammo and time, especially since they will quickly return.

2. Find Cover and Break Line of Sight

A more sustainable tactic is to use the environment to break the Spotter's line of sight. While the Spotter can still tag you from ARC Raiders BluePrints a distance, it needs to keep a constant line of sight to maintain its laser lock. If you can find shelter in a building, behind a solid structure, or in a location where the Spotter cannot see you, the laser will dissipate, and the Bombardier will be unable to target you.

Buildings: Find structures or buildings that the Bombardier cannot shoot through. Even if the Spotter marks you, the Bombardier won't be able to use that information to hit you if it doesn't have a direct line of fire.

Obstructions: Place physical objects like walls, trees, or other large obstacles between you and the Spotter. This can disrupt the laser and prevent the Spotter from tracking you, which disables the Bombardier's ability to shoot you.

3. Quick Use Items: Blind, Stun, or Disorient

Another effective way to deal with the Spotter is by using Quick Use items to disrupt its ability to mark you. Items like flashbangs, smoke grenades, or EMPs can help blind, stun, or disorient the Spotter, allowing you to escape or reposition.

Flashbangs: Temporarily disable the Spotter's vision, breaking its lock on your position.

Smoke Grenades: Use smoke to obscure the Spotter's line of sight and force it to stop targeting you.

EMP Devices: Temporarily disable the Spotter's electronic systems, preventing it from locking onto you for a period of time.
