We'll build upon that success with innovative and exciting experiences on more platforms and new ways of playing in the years ahead."

It was the Madden NFL franchise was in operation from 1994 to 2022. Since the team was sacked the fans have been begging for its return. And now it's finally being done.

Its return to the NFL to 2K Sports is only the latest step taken by 2K to invest more money in content for sports games. The year 2022 was the first time 2K declared that they will publish The Golf Club 2022 Featuring the PGA Tour, after developer HB Studios announced a licensing agreement that included the professional golf league. 2K also produces as well as publishes both the NBA 2K series and the WWE 2K series.

Its president Joe Ruggiero, who heads the consumer product division stated in an announcement that the NFL is specifically seeking to expand its reach into the realm of games on video. "Reviving our relationship with 2K was an obvious step to accomplish this goal," he said.

The NFL season came to an end on the 1st of January by the Super Bowl 54, but EA Sports has not stopped support for Madden NFL 25 with new updates. The most recent patch is out (along with the full note on the patch) and the most significant addition is connected to this year's Super Bowl.
